PCMH benefits from the Young Shall Grow

The Young Shall Grow Organization is a charitable, non- political, non-governmental organisation formed to create unity among Sierra Leoneans living in the United  Kingdom. Since the outbreak of Ebola in the country, there has been a growing concern and support shown by Sierra Leoneans living abroad.

The latest support to the Princess Christian Maternity Hospital PCMH) did not come as a surprise owing to the fact the the organization has over the years supported so many projects in the country, ranging from health, education and other areas to transform the country.

Items donated at the Maternity Unit of the PCMH include pillows and pillow cases, bedspreads and other bed covers that enables patiets feel comfortable in sick beds.

Handing over the items, Madam Kadiatu Golley said they want to see PCMH continuously provinding the best medical services in the country. “This is a great hospital that we always want to see doing the good job,” she said, and added that the items must be put into good use so as to encourage further supports.

Receiving the items, the Senior Medical Superintendent at PCMH, Dr. Alimamy Philip Koroma said the items have come the right time after they had disposed of some of their beds and matresses. “I am very greatful to see our Sierra Leonean brothers and Sisters in the United Kingdom supporting us,” he noted. Dr. Koroma further pointed out that the hospital is doing fine, and that he is happy that non of his staffs in the Maternity Ward were inffected by Ebola.He promised to distribute the items to the various wards in the unit. “We have pregnant women coming in to access quality free health services, which has enable us reduce maternal mortality,” he said.

Dr. Koroma admonished the Young Shall Grow Organization to supoport the hospital with medical equipment so that it continuously provide the right services to the people.
