Soroptimist International Boosts Health Ministry
Freetown, July 8, 015 (MOHS) – Soroptimist International a humanitarian charitable organization has donated medical items, crutches and used clothing to the Ministry of Health and Sanitation for distribution to deserving health facilities. Some of the items include absorbaticsuturs, respirators face mask, metal mash, waterproof isolation gowns, beds,mattresses, vanish point syringe and latex gloves.
The donated items according to Soroptimist International President, Mrs. Natalie Cole, came as a patriotic gesture from their branch in Australia. Soroptimist is made up of different nationalities including Sierra Leoneans. The gesture was meant to complement government’s efforts in the fight to combat the Ebola virus disease in Sierra Leone.
Deputy Minister of Health and Sanitation II, Madam MadinaRahman who identified the Kingharman Road Government Hospital as one of the beneficiaries promised to ensure the judicious use of the items and its distribution to deserving health facilities in the country.
The donated items are one of a series of Soroptimist traditional gestures to the country in demonstrating their patriotic support to the government and people of Sierra Leone.
