47 Drivers Dragged to Court
The District Traffic Officer (DTO) Of the B-Divisional Headquarters, Assistant Supt. Kabba Sesay and his Operation Officer, Inspector Henry Kamara, have arrested and charged to court forty-seven commercial motor drivers for violation of various traffic offences including half way driving, using an unauthorized route and driving without licenses.
ASP Sesay also informed that dozens of commercial motorbikes have been impounded for riding unlicensed and unregistered motorbikes, riding with slippers and riding after the lawful time.
He vowed to continue arresting lawless drivers and riders until they comply with the national traffic rules and regulations. The police traffic boss urged passengers never to pay drivers and riders who take them half way to their destinations, but called on them to report such lawless drivers and riders to the police.
According to him, he was able to succeed through the following police officers: SGT 437 Kpundeh, W/SGT 8693 Rugiatu Koroma and PC 11532 Taylor all of whom, he said, have been doing a professional job.
