Ramadan Starts Thursday in Saudi Arabia
The holy month of Ramadan, when Muslims fast from dawn to dusk, begins in the Kingdom on Thursday, 18th June, 2015, Saudi Arabia Supreme Judiciary Council announced Tuesday, June 16, 2015.
“As nobody sighted the Ramadan crescent on Tuesday evening, Wednesday, 17th June is the last day of Shaaban and Thursday is the first day of Ramadan,” the council said in an official statement.
Meanwhile, Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Alhaji M.S. Kargbo has congratulated all Muslims in advance on the advent of the holy month.
He called on all Sierra Leoneans to use this holy period to pray for the speedy eradication of the Ebola Virus Disease in Sierra Leone and Guinea. The envoy also asked his compatriots to pray for peace, progress, prosperity and development in their country.
