Commissioner acclaims SLAJ, IRN Ebola Broadcast

The young and fine commissioner was speaking on air during his unannounced visit to IRN studio, serving as the broadcast command centre for the joint Ebola radio monitoring program.
Commissioner Bangura was interviewed by two of Sierra Leone’s finest broadcast journalists, ABK and Asmaa Kamara James
He hailed the program and its presenters for holding what he described as “a masterpiece, educative and wonderful talk shows” aimed at encouraging Sierra Leoneans to see the need to join hands and put a final end to Ebola in the country.
According to Commissioner Bangura, the SLAJ/IRN radio sensitization program has positively contributed to bringing nationals and non-nationals actively onboard to fight Ebola in the country.
He appreciated the media for its timely and relentless intervention to end Ebola, especially during the lock down, whilst appealing to government and other donor partners to continue supporting the media to end Ebola.
He recalled the active role played by the media decade’s back that contributed to the end of the civil war and believed that if well supported, it will play the same role again to end Ebola in Sierra Leone.
Commissioner Alhaji Dauda Musa Bangura thanked SLAJ for its Yellow Ribbon campaign and assured the Association of its continued support to journalists in terms of media trainings and development.
He concluded by thanking government for effecting the 3-day sit-at-home which according to him has positively contributed to end Ebola in the country.
