Ebola Discourages Magicians
It was necessary that, His Excellency President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma pronounced a State of Public Health Emergency, a process that has greatly helped to discourage public gathering caused by magic men who perform mystic and attract hundreds of onlookers, especially middle of Freetown, for the purpose of watching such despondent performances.
One can reflect his or her mind that before the declaration of the day of reflection by the His Excellency to mourn and pray for victims that died of Ebola Virus, snake boys were seen walking the streets of Freetown with those sacred pythons tied round their necks as necklaces, scaring people, while others were happy to come closer to the boys either to look for miracle or for the guys to foretell their future.
Many people, especially women, who are known to be in the habit of visiting sorcerers and spend their wealth on them. never think why those magic men remain poorer but profess that, they have the power to make people become rich and can cure illnesses. Is that true? If so let them find a better solution to cure the deadly Ebola virus that has become a threat for not only the West African region but the world as a whole.
An overcrowding encouraged and exhibited by these juju men is a clear right at the heart of city a recipe for the spread of Ebola, but the pronouncement of the Public health emergency has totally discouraged any type of gathering.
A young lady around Mount Aureole lost her cell phone and perceived that somebody among those she interacted with including her brothers, sisters and friends in the same house has stolen it. She had wanted to seek the services of a juju man to find out who stole her phone but unfortunately for her she was questioned by some reasonable elders in the compound that, if she doesn’t understand that, a juju man can cause people from different places to storm a house to satisfy their eyes and one among them might have contracted the virus and transport it to their compound? She became speechless and was left with no option but to lay the issue aside until the Ebola outbreak is eradicated.
