Rotifunk Paramount Chief escapes ambush
Paramount Chief Charles Caulker of Rotifunk in the Moyamba District Southern Province of Sierra Leone, who is also Chairman National Council of Paramount Chiefs, on July 29, 2014 narrowly escaped death at the hands of youth he alleged to have laid in ambushed for him.
Explaining his ordeal to this medium, PC Charles Caulker said over 30 years of his experience as Paramount Chief, July 19th-20th-21st 2014 were sad days for him in his home town and therefore appealed to His Excellency Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma and the Inspector General of Police Francis I Munu to help restore peace in his chiefdom.
He noted that presently the LUC of Moyamba District, Superintendent Betts and team are currently have in their custody 5 suspects, with one box of cartridges and 10 cutlasses they had on their possession, with the intention to harm him.
Hon. PC Charles Caulker said that over 150 people in 2011-2012/13 refused to pay the local taxes and accused the Councilor Abubakarr Bangura and the Member of Parliament for Constituency 086 in Moyamba District Hon. Amadu Kanu as the main brains behinds the unrest in his chiefdom and Moyamba District.
PC Charles Caulker said during the unrest, one house was raised to the ground while several citizens got injured and that the situation continues as these two men are always in the habit of supporting certain youths to create chaos, this is the reason he is calling on the president for his intervention.
However it has been rumoured that the unrest in his chiefdom is being investigated by Minister of Political and Public Affairs Hon. Ibrahim Kemoh Sesay and hopes are that the findings would be forwarded to President Koroma.
