NAYCOM targets 300 graduates for GIP

The Program Manager, National Youth Commission (NAYCOM), Mr. Momodu Wudie has said in Freetown that based on their budget, they are targeting 300 young people for the Graduate Internship Program (GIP) this year.

Mr. Wudie made the revelation in an exclusive interview last Friday with this reporter at his NAYCOM office Swimming Pool in Freetown where he expressed his organization’s determination to work with young people in a transparent and accountable manner and put to an unnecessary speculations.

He dilated on the process how young people could benefit from the scheme stressing that one method they would use is by making sure that each applicant must have not only completed tertiary education with authentic documents but must also be a Sierra Leonean with the willingness to participate in the four months program and must be between ages 18-35.

When asked about possible political interference in the selection process of students for the program, Mr. Wudie said, the National Youth Commission (NAYCOM) is an independent body and cannot dance to the tune of any politician.

He appealed to all young graduates with the requisite requirements to apply and be assured that they would benefit.

Mr Wudie concluded by assuring support to government in the fight against the deadly Ebola virus outbreak and extend their sympathy to all those precious lives of Sierra Leoneans that has been lost as a result of the Ebola and also urged all Sierra Leoneans to take precaution and protect themselves against the deadly Ebola Virus assuring that very soon the issue of the Ebola will be history and also commended President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma for his concern for the people and the actions he making to combat and kick the virus menace out of our beloved country.
