Poor Planning, Mr. President
There have been widespread reports that the helicopter which our caring president, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma, used to fly into the Ebola-infested district of Kenema ran out of fuel and, consequently, could not further fly the president to Kailahun to where he was bound.
Such reports bear the potential to embarrass our president and expose the nonchalance of those assigned to ensure that our president travels safely.
What I gathered from the reports was that the trip was poorly planned and those responsible should be brought to book for allowing our presidential flight to run out of fuel midway his destination.
We were very disturbed by such reports which have left us wondering whether fuel shortage has not hit State House. We only hope those travelling with our beloved president do not repeat such an embarrassing mistake which, we believe, occurred due to poor planning.
Some are giving the flimsy excuse that the helicopter’s fuel tank has a capacity to only fly to Kenema and back to Freetown. If that is the case, why use such a helicopter for a proposed Kailahun trip? Don’t you there risk our president life’s again.
