ADDAX Bioenergy Sierra Leone joins the fight against Ebola
Freetown, Jul. 17, 014 (SLENA) – ADDAX Bioenergy Sierra Leone Limited has donated Le35 million Leones and a vehicle to the Ministry of Health and Sanitation to support the fight against the Ebola Virus disease outbreak.
Making the donation on Thursday July 17, 2014 in the Ministry’s Conference hall at Youyi Building in Freetown, the General Manager-ADDAX, Mr. Trevor Endres commended the Ministry for the tremendous work in combating the disease.
He said ADDAX is very proud of the contribution made from its local staff and Geneva hoping that it would provide meaningful assistance to compliment government’s efforts.
Receiving the donation, Health and Sanitation Minister, Miatta Kargbo, described the donation as a generous gesture that would help contribute towards contact tracing and other key issues on the outbreak.
She said the Ministry understands their social corporate responsibility, and expressed grateful and appreciation to the local employees and those in Geneva for the gesture.
The Minister told the General Manager and team that the Ministry is committed to the judiciously use of all donor funds, and promised to give updates on the utilization of the amount donated for the purpose of transparency and accountability.
Receiving the keys, the Director of Disease Prevention and Control, Dr. Amara Jambai described the donation as an invaluable catalyst for Surveillance and contact tracing, that it would be best utilized in the Kailahun district for the intended purpose
