Sierra Leone Traditional Healers Union President Kabba begs President Koroma
Needless to say that the Sierra Leone Traditional Healers Union (SLTHU) has saved many Sierra Leoneans from untimely graves via witch gun and other voodoo weapons that, hitherto, proliferated this nation and used to kill many prominent people for pittances.
Many idle, indigent and, consequently, desperate citizens had resorted to making their living by firing their fellow citizens with witch guns for few thousand Leones. The demonic trade soon boomed and witch gunners were assembling in large number at Up Gun roundabout and other strategic areas around Freetown advertising their juju guns and competing for hire.
The sad situation soon reached an alarming dimension and became a cause for the concern of the government and the masses. It was at this point that the traditional healers intervened and arrested and detained several witch gunners some of whom were sent to court.
SLTHU was formed in 2007 and in 2009, the current National President, Dr. Sulaiman Kabba (in photo), was crowned by no less a person than His Excellency the President, Ernest Bai Koroma.
However, Dr. Kabba has expressed disappointment over the fact that government has not been giving the union the attention and support it deserves, pointing out other governments in countries like China and Ghana have helped traditional medicine to develop to recognition point.
Dr. Kabba is, therefore, pleading with President Koroma and his government to give more support, particularly, financial support to develop it for benefit of the citizenry.
SLTHU National President is already operating a thriving herbalist clinic at Calaba Town in the East End of Freetown and is calling on the president and his government to help the union with funding to establish such clinics all over the country and to engage disarmed witch gunners in more gainful trade to divert their attention from evil as was done to the ex-combatants just after the decade-long rebel brutality.
Dr. Kabba further argued that the potency manifested by traditional medicine necessitates government to fund its advancement.
