37 Metropolitan Police Promoted

Delivering the keynote address at a colourful ceremony which took place at 17 Wallace Johnson Street, the Headquarters of FCC, His Worship the Mayor of Freetown, Franklyn Bode Gibson congratulated the Police Officers who received promotions and admonished them that it is the reward of hard work

He informed them that the Metropolitan Police Department of the council is one very important sector that is charged with duties and responsibilities to maintain law and order within the municipality of Freetown, hereby helping Council to enforce the bye laws of Council’s Act of 2004

To those that were not promoted, he appealed  to them to continue their hard work, as all of them cannot be promoted at one go, as  their service and effect have very helping in moving council forward. To those that were promoted he told them that it is time for them to put more effect in the work, because to whom much is given, much is expected

Mayor also expresses his thanks and appreciation to the police team that   conducted the exams and interview for them.

The Head of the Metropolitan Police, Supt. John Taegomeh Lassayo making a statement said that 37 Officers passed the exams and interview out of the lot that sat to it

He revealed that the Officers have proven their metul, and they were honest, dutiful and well behaved Officers

Lassayo  also said  the exams  was conducted by the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) restricting team without fear or favour, with a draft promotional policy. During the exams, he revealed that the Officers sat to General Paper, Composition and Comprehensive.

For the Metroplitant Police Policy, he said only Officers who have served council for a period of five years are entitled to apply for promotions and be allow to take the exams

Statements were also made by the Chief Administrator, John A. Conteh and the Human Resource   Officer, Claude Campbell of the Freetown City Council
