Anasheed Family Launched
In a bid to enhance the propagation of the Islamic religion by spreading the word of Allah through Islamic songs, the Anasheed Family which comprises of young and dedicated Muslim youths has been launched at a ceremony held at the Masjid Rahman Bombay Street on Sunday 27th April, 2014.
In his launching statement, the proprietor of Tankoro Pharmacy, Alhaji Sahid Kargbo, commended the group for their good initiative in encouraging their fellow youth folks to go out and spread the message of Allah through Islamic songs. He reiterated that during the time of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) young people were always at the forefront in the propagation of the religion by making a lot of selfless sacrifices to see to it that Islam grew speedily and urged them to continue rededicating their efforts in promoting and propagating Islam.
Alhaji Sahid Kargbo noted that most of the Muslim youths now engage in so many un-Islamic activities and called on the group to intensify their effort in the propagation of the religion with patience and understanding. He admonished them to make good use of their youthfulness by complementing the effort of our eminent Imams and scholars in using another medium to attract youths in changing their attitude towards Allah.
In his remarks the Secretary General Brother Umar Sankoh disclosed that the group was founded on the 30th September, 2012 and since their inception they have attracted a lot of youths. He emphasized that their main aim is to divert the minds of young people from unwarranted social activities that will not benefit them in the hereafter.
Brother Umar Sankor noted that since music is the simplest way of passing on vital information, they would like to use it as a means of spreading the word of Allah in order to transform people from listening to worldly music that have no moral teachings. He said that Islam does not mean only going to mosque and praying but also encourages entertainment through guide and principles.
Earlier the Chairman of the group who is also a broadcaster at the Voice of Islam radio station Brother Abdulai Bah outlined activities which the group support: like Qu’ranic Reading, Islamic Drama and Islamic talent shows. He assured all that they will stand the test of time as they are all dedicated in seeing their youth folks play their role in the propagation of Islam.
