Mercury International gives SWASAL Le 14.26m plus 2 air tickets to attend AIPS Africa Conference in Dakar

Chairman of Mercury International (SL) Limited Charity Foundation Samir Hassanyeh on Wednesday 12th March 2014 at his 25 Rawdon Street office in Freetown presented a cash-cheque of Le14,260,000 plus two return air tickets to the President of SWASAL, Mohamed Fajah Barrie.

The cash and air tickets are to enable the SWASAL President Mohamed Fajah Barrie and National Secretary General Frank Cole attend the International Sports Press Association (AIPS) Africa Congress from 17th -21st March 14 2014, in Dakar Senegal.

Handing over the cheque and tickets Chairman Samir Hassanyeh spoke about the existing partnership between SWASAL and the company which he said continues to benefit both parties.

“We (Mercury International (SL) Limited) will continue to support SWASAL as part of our corporate social responsibility because the company is so far satisfied with the credible and reliable manner the association is conducting its activities,” said Samir Hassanyeh.

He said both Barrie and Cole were not going to Dakar to represent themselves but the entire Sierra Leone, and wished both men ‘safe journey.’

Receiving the cash-cheque and air tickets the SWASAL President Mohamed Fajah Barrie thanked Mercury International (SL) Limited for the regular and continuous support and further noted SWASAL will always remain grateful to the company as its sole sponsor.

“The AIPS Africa Congress is very important because it is the main forum where African sports journalists discuss pertinent issues regarding their job as well as electing new executive members,” Barrie said.

Both Mohamed Fajah Barrie and Frank Cole departed Freetown Sunday 16th March 2014 for Dakar, Senegal.
