Pastor detained for stealing laptop computer

The Pastor of the Word of  Life Ministry at 6 Mathew Sellu Street, Bo, Pastor Timothy Sillah, was on Monday, March 3 arrested by Police personnel attached to the Bo Police for allegedly stealing a laptop computer from one Pastor Nelson Patrick Sesay of Omega Outreach Ministry at 13 Momoh Lane, Old Wharf, Wellington on the eastern outskirts in Freetown.

According to Pastor Nelson Sesay he explained that Pastor Timothy Sillah borrowed the laptop from him sometime in November 2011 and since then he has not been able to set eyes on him until he received a tip off that the said Man of God was hiding in Bo.

He stated that he then made a statement to the Police in Bo who arrested and detained him for larceny by fake pretences.

When contacted Pastor Timothy Sillah explained that he had borrowed the said Dell laptop from Pastor Sesay but that it was having problems and he took it to a mechanic for repairs. He also explained that after the repairs the laptop was stolen by his nephew and he was ashamed to inform his colleague Pastor.

He added that he promised to pay for the laptop but that he still needs to be given time.

He disclosed that he owns a school called Word of Life Junior Secondary School situated at Johnny Layout in Bo and a Church.

He maintained that he is a very respectable Man of God in Bo, underscoring that he has asked the Police to allow him to be paying for the laptop but that they have refused to accept his pleas.

When contacted the outgoing Crime Officer of Bo Eastern Police Station, Inspector Laggah, said the offence was very serious.

He maintained that until Pastor Timothy Sillah produces the said laptop he will not be released or else he will be charge to Court.

As we were going to press we were informed that family and close friends of the said Pastor Sillah are trying to resolve the matter out of court.
