Airtel brings life to Juba Barracks
Leading mobile company, Airtel on Friday, February 28 commissioned a water project it embarked on worth seventy five million Leones (Le75,000,000.00)at the Juba Barracks.
Director of Defence, Estate, Colonel Jumu in welcoming everybody at the commissioning of the water project, said this wisdom came from the Minister of Defence, Retired Major Alfred Palo Conteh as he considers Juba to be a very important unit.
Deputy Chief of Defence Staff General Jim Milton said he appreciated the Airtel family for providing life to the Juba Barracks. “With this water supply, the whole community will benefit as it is useful and important,” he observed.
The Minister of Defence, Retired Major Alfred Palo Conteh said that most areas are suffering for lack of pure water.
He paid tribute to Airtel for sponsoring the water project. Telling the people the Airtel has brought life to them he admonished them to look after the taps properly and to handle them with care.
In his keynote address, the Managing Director of Airtel Sierra Leone, Mr. Sudipto Chowdhury, stated that Airtel is committed to development in whatever small or big they can.
He disclosed that so far Airtel has got more than 50% of the populace of Sierra Leone which is more than one million six hundred thousand subscribers.
He maintained that Airtel will continue to show love to the country as part of their corporate social responsibilities.
He appealed to the people to take the greatest care of the taps as they know they suffering they were enduring when they had no water facilities in their midst.
