Irrespective of party or tribal affiliations, President Ernest Bai Koroma is ready to bring his people together
President Ernest Bai Koroma’s interest and love for our beloved country is legendary which is why his popularity has always sky-rocketed among other politicians.
His leadership is very difficult to challenge at this point in time because of his passion and love for his people and also a respecter of human rights and democracy.
He is a leader who is determined to bring his country and his people together irrespective of party or tribal affiliations.
He is a President who does not believe in hearsay but believes in hard work and commitment.
For instance, when he took up office in 2007, he promised to electrify the capital city Freetown and indeed the city got light within his first one hundred days in office after about thirty years of darkness because of his commitment and love for his people.
He makes sure that he pays regular on the spot visits to all areas of the country in order to assess how to bring about development in the country.
In his address to the nation after he took power in 2007 he promised the people that there would be development in the country and indeed we can all see it. Now electricity and other infrastructural developments among others, have taken place within his first five years in leadership.
As a country we have seen our President making considerable progress and therefore we must give him accolades for such development.
President Koroma has demonstrated a very high level of sincerity and commitment towards change.
Today the freedom to question Government policies and also criticise the President is now common utterance in the daily life of some Sierra Leoneans.
Members of the opposition who used to sarcastically criticise the him can now see that the President is an open minded person especially when he invited all political party leaders to State House to look at the way forward.
By this gesture, they were all surprised and considered the President as generous and outstanding.
From the gains he has made and the unity he is fostering among the people of this country if the average Sierra Leonean is a wise person not oblivious of the terrible past he or she does not need to be told to be at peace with his of her neighbor.
We therefore need to remind ourselves that irrespective of party or tribal affiliations, President Ernest Bai Koroma has brought us together than any other President before him has done.
