Two farmers and the driver of an Iveco Trailer with registration number AEO 002 have appeared before the Port Loko Magistrate Court on three count charges.

The two farmers Alimamy Kanu and Gibrilla Kamara both of Rogbere Junction were charged with larceny and malicious damage, while the driver, Alhaji Kamara was charged with unlawful possession of rail sleepers said to be the property of the African Minerals Mining Company.

The rail sleepers were valued at sixty-two million Leones. The accused appeared before Magistrate Alfred Ganda and pleaded “not guilty” on all counts. They were granted bail of twenty million Leones each. The matter was adjourned to the twenty-ninth of this month. Meanwhile, police in the mile Ninety-one Division have arrested six parcels of substance suspected to be cannabis sativa at the mile 91 Lorry Park. The substance was stuffed in a sack, heading for Freetown. However, the police say they are yet to identify ownership for the substance.
