London Mining improves Lunsar roads
London Mining Company’s contractor, Universal Ventures, has now completed the company sponsored Road Improvement Project, which has upgraded a number of roads that are vital to its operating community of Lunsar.
The work, which entailed an investment of $43,500 equivalent of Le 186,180,000 complements that which is being carried out by SALCOST under the auspices of the Government of Sierra Leone.
“As one of the largest investors in Sierra Leone, London Mining takes its civic responsibilities very seriously,” said Dan Desjardins, Managing Director, London Mining Company. “We are committed to supporting the Government of Sierra Leone’s Agenda for Prosperity, which has set out to transform the national transportation landscape through an extensive road rehabilitation and reconstruction programme,” Desjardins continued. “We are thrilled to work alongside the Government to improve access to basic services and overall quality of life for the people of Lunsar.”
The project involved the grading of road surfaces, shaping of side drains, filling of depressions and compacting of segments, totaling 20 kilometers, of Chendetha Road, Cemetery Road, Fofanah Street, Guadalupe Street, Faryomboh Street, Sebana Street, Madina Street and the Safecon Haul Road link.
