Minister commends management of Dohas Hotel
Bo, Jan. 27 (SLENA) – The Minister of Social Welfare, Gender and Children’s Affairs, Alhaji Moijueh Kaikai has described Hotel Dohas located at Towama Road in Bo as unique and meets the development aspirations of that city.
Alhaji Kaikai was speaking during the one year anniversary celebration of the hotel recently. He said the hotel was ideally located with state of the art facilities. “That is the reason why His Excellency President Ernest Bai Koroma and entourage had lunch here while on visit to Bo,” he called, and urged management to embark on the culture of maintenance.
The celebration attracted entrepreneurs, other development partners and local dignitaries in Bo city and beyond.
Addressing a host of invited guests, the Proprietor and Chief Executive Director, Saleh Mohamed Yahya disclosed that the hotel was constructed within a one year period with support from reputable financial institutions from whom he was able to access loan in order to achieve his objective.
He said although he is a Lebanese by extraction, he is a Sierra Leonean by birth and therefore deemed it fit to invest in Bo where he got the money to construct the hotel.
Yahya said the hotel complex, with 31 rooms of various categories, also has provision for workshops, conferences, wedding and birthday parties, swimming pools for both adults and kids complete with variety of indoor games.
Speaking at the one year anniversary celebration, Paramount Chief Prof. Joe Kangbai Macavorie III of Tikonko Chiefdom, Bo District described the occasion as historic, noting that in addition to Dohas Hotel, his chiefdom is host to one component of Njala University College and the defunct Bo air field.
He urged the proprietor, who he described as his brother, to continue his good work by motivating his workers in order to excel.
