All As One to host free concert at British Council

Freetown, December 11 (SLENA) – A charity organisation for orphans known as ‘All as One’ based at Majay Town in Goderich, will be holding a free concert at the British Council, Tower Hill in Freetown on Sunday 15th December 2013 starting at 1PM.

This event which they tagged as Holiday Benefit Concert will be featuring the Ballanta Entertainment Band, Lili Ballanta Cultural Group and the great Azania Steady, a Sierra Leonean who just arrived from USA to grace this fund raising for orphans and disadvantaged children in Sierra Leone.

Speaking to journalists in a press conference held at the AWOL Secretariat on Pademba Road, earlier this week, Azania, who is also a Goodwill Ambassador and an Award winning songstress, said that she had always wanted to give back to her home country, Sierra Leone what she had achieved and one way she thought she could do that was to use her voice to sing.

She said that the proceeds from the concert will go towards the building of a Children’s Home on a piece of land at Grafton, noting that a quit notice had been served on these children where they currently reside

The Country Director of All As One Children’s Center, Steven Amara said that this charity organisation is found in other African countries and it was established for children in desperate situation, adding that the charity organisation was founded by a Lady called Diana Wallace, an American who was very frequent in Sierra Leone during the rebel War.

The organisation, he disclosed, was formed in 1999, saying this is the time Sierra Leoneans should take good care of our children because they are our future resources. “They can take away our mineral resources but they cannot take our children away,” Steven Amara said.

On her part, Azania Steady, the Goodwill Ambassador and Award winning songstress pleaded with the media  to help in their own little way to pass on this message right across the country and to publicise the Holiday Benefit Concert schedule to take place on the 15th December 2013.

Entrance, she said is by donations from all those who wish to attend and contribute meaningfully to a worthy cause.
