13 aspire for paramount chieftaincy in Peje Bongre Chiefdom
Following the recent announcement by NEC of election of paramount chiefs in vacant chiefdoms across the region in the country, 13 candidates from six ruling houses have applied for the chieftaincy position in the Peje Bonga chiefdom in the Kailahun district.
In a recent chiefdom meeting held at the chiefdom court Barrie in Manowa, the regent chief Musa Sheriff confirmed and acknowledged receipts of 13 application letters from various aspirants from various ruling houses across the length and breadth of the chiefdom.
According to then regent chief, names of the aspirants include Vandy Sei Kpandegua, Sylvester G. Samba, Francis Nyakeh Lamin, Edward Lamin junior, Francis Gbaio Lamin, joseph Mambu, Bayoh Fatorma Moriba, Lawrence M. Bayoh, Henry Kpejehumkpoh Bayoh, Abdul Rahama Majabie, Francis B. Kowah and Node K. Bayoh.
However the regent chief explained some aspect of government policies relating to paramount chieftaincy code, he emphasized that all aspirants must be law abiding and respectful to the norms and valves of fundamental human right. He said that there are seven sections within the chiefdom which includes Sei Mayah, mano, Bongei Jao, Falloh and Bulkor sections; he also told the gathering that there will be approximately five hundred chiefdom councilors that will be charge with the responsibility to determine the next paramount chief within the period of three months
In his concluding statement he explained that review of chiefdom councilors list will take place on the 16thSeptember 2013, while the declaration of rights will commenced on the 30th October 2013 and the polling day will on the 27th November 2013
