Five Senior Govt. diplomatic Officials Represent President Koroma in Washington & UN General Assembly
Sierra Leone’s President Ernest Bai Koroma has selected five of his trusted and capable officials of Government, to represent him in all programs scheduled to take place in Washington DC, Maryland, New Jersey, Boston, Connecticut and at the Sixty Eight (68) United Nations General Assembly New York.
Led by Minister of Information and Communications and Government Spokesman Hon. Alhaji Alpha Kanu (in photo), other members of the delegation include Ambassador Bockari Kortu Stevens, Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Matthew Samura – Kamara, Special Executive Assistant to President Ernest Bai Koroma Dr. Sylvia O. Blyden and Minister Plenipotentiary to the United Nations and Coordinator of the African Union Committee of 10 on UN Security Council Reform ( C-10), Rev. Wilfred Leroy Kabbs-Kanu.
Accordingly, Hon. Alpha Kanu is leading the delegation to attend all functions which President Ernest Bai Koroma should have attended in Washington DC, New Jersey, Boston and Connecticut, while the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Matthew Samura Kamara will lead the delegation to attend the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Hon. Alhaji Alpha Kanu, Dr. Sylvia O. Blyden and Reverend Wilfred Leroy Kabbs Kanu arrived at Washington DC Monday September 16, 2013, and were received by embassy staff including Deputy Chief of Mission I.S. Conteh,Head of Chancery Mrs. Isatu Sillah,Mr. Edward Kawa Ms. Fatmata Dao and Information Attaché Pasco Gerald Temple, before being welcomed on arrival at the Chancery by Ambassador Bockari Kortu Stevens.
On Tuesday 16th September, they will attend a meeting at World Bank hosted by Constituency for Africa (CFA), where President Ernest Bai Koroma will deliver his speech through video conferencing from the office of the World Bank in Freetown.
The delegation will also attend a Town meeting at Veterans Place, Civic Plaza Maryland Wednesday, where they will engage members of the diaspora on the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) compact, which requires engagement with the diaspora community on the “constraint Analysis”, go to Connecticut and attend a High level local arrangements, attend a Town meeting in New Jersey, before attending the sixty eighth United Nations General Assembly in New York.
