High Court acquits Bernard T.M. Dugba on corruption charges
The Honorable Justice J.B. Katutsi of the High Court of Sierra Leone acquitted and discharged Mr. Bernard T.M. Dugba on corruption charges brought against him by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
Mr. Dugba, who is the Planning Coordinator of the Directorate of Planning and Information at the Ministry of Health and Sanitation, was indicted on a 15-count charge bordering on Misappropriation of Donor Funds contrary to Section 37(1) of the Anti-Corruption Act 2008.
The Commission is currently reviewing the judgment and the public will be accordingly informed of any further action.
Meanwhile, following a report from the Political Parties Registration Commission (PPRC), the ACC has arrested four PPRC officials on allegations of Misappropriation of Public Funds and other corrupt-related offences prohibited under the Anti-Corruption Act 2008. The following persons, who are currently on bail, are the subject of the investigations:
- Mr. Abraham John – Registrar
- Mr. Moses Senesie – Finance Manager
- Mr. Robert Paine – Head of Mediation and Program Department
- Mr. Victor Hugo Kamara – Mediation and Programs Manager – East
