MP takes football premier league to Newton
Freetown July – SLENA – Member of Parliament of Constituency 95, Hon Claude Kamada has described the playing of football matches in the Earnest Bai Koroma mini stadium at Newton as a milestone for the community. The MP was speaking at the Newton football field where Anti-drugs Stickers and Eastern Lions locked horns in their own version of the ongoing football premier league match.
While commending the community for helping him in actualizing his dream in promoting football in that part of the country, he also mentioned the stakeholders for assisting him in fencing the mini stadium, adding that the stadium will soon have a pavilion to add value to it.
The Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Youth and Sport in parliament, Hon Martin Bangura thanked his colleague MP, noting that in the development of football everybody should come on board.
The match, which started on a fine note, ended in a goalless draw.
After the match, the Deputy Minister of Sport, Al Sankoh Konteh praised the lovely atmosphere in which the match was played and assured the fans of his ministry’s support football in the country.
In attendance were the Minister of Youth Affairs, Hon Alimmay Kamara and other stakeholders in football.
