Fullah aspirant promises development in Kambia
Kambia, June (SLENA) – One of the renowned Fullah businessmen in the country, Alhaji Jiju Barrie (in photo) who is aspiring to be the Fullah Tribal Head in Kambia has promised strongly that that if he is elected to that position, he will develop the entire district for the general good of all.
Laying bare his good intention in an exclusive interview with SLENA, Alhaji Barrie said in past years he gave support not just to the Fullah community in Kambia but to the entire Kambia District, adding that for over thirty years now, he has been supporting the educational sector, building schools and awarding scholarships to deserving pupils and students.
This gesture also included building mosques and assisting women and children to realize their potentials, thereby moving their lives forward.
Alhaji Jiju Barrie assured all and sundry that he will continue to offer more goodies to the people of Kambia and called on them to give him their support because, as he put it, he is the right man for that office.
Speaking further, he disclosed that he is presently constructing a hotel of an international standard in Kambia District and that over ninety Sierra Leonean youths are presently employed in constructing over forty houses in Kambia to promote the tourism industry which he said will contribute immensely to national development.
According to the aspirant, his intention for vying for the tribal headship is not to enrich himself at the expense of the people but to purposely reunify the Fullah tribe in that in part of the country at large.
