Paramount Chief Indicts SLRA
Paramount Chief of Selenga Chiefdom, Bo District, has accused the Sierra Leone Roads Authority (SLRA), of owing him the sum of Le8 million.
Making the accusation during an interview with this press in his house at Dambala, PC Desmond Kagobai said that several months ago, the SLRA asked him to pre-finance the rehabilitation of the Dambala Bridge on agreement that his money will be refunded to him after completing the work, but that since he spent his hard earned money to rehabilitate the bridge, the SLRA has failed to honor its pledge to refund the Le8 million he spent to repair the broken bridge, noting that the SLRA has always been making vain promises.
He described the SLRA’s behavior as tantamount to defrauding him of his money, stressing that he will leave no pebble unturned to ensure that he retrieves his money. The SLRA is yet to respond to the Paramount Chief’s allegation.
Meanwhile, the Dambala Bridge has been damaged again and is now serving as a death trap.
