Beheaded corpse discovered at Portee Wharf

Fishmongers rudely interrupted residents of the Portee Wharf at the sight of the remains of a middle aged man minus his head drifting offshore over the past weekend.

Eyewitnesses described the unidentified corpse of a protruded bellied male without a head wearing boxer underwear and white gloves on both hands, found floating towards their business area and immediately alerted the entire wharf community.

Youths present at the scene wasted no time to jump into a canoe and used sticks to guide the beheaded corpse mid-stream away from their vicinity without notifying the Sierra Leone Police of the strange experience. This unfortunate occurrence was greeted by great speculation ranging from ritual to armed robbery attack which has become the order of the day in the east end of Freetown.

It would be recalled that earlier this month the corpse of a toddler was also abandoned at the gate of the Kissy Mess-Mess cemetery and up to date the police investigations have not ascertained the identity of the deceased, neither could they tell the cause of his demise or that circumstances that led to abandoning the corpse at the entrance of the cemetery.
