Patriotic Sierra Leoneans Moving Forward
Patriotic Sierra Leoneans (PSL), an organization set aside to boost the patriotism of Sierra Leoneans, is moving forward in achieving its goals.
At a press conference held at May Deks Restaurant, Siaka Stevens Street, the Executives and President told journalists of their aim and objectives.
Chairman of the press conference, Thomas Dickson, said that patriotism has been lacking for the past 52 years. Patriotism can be divided into two -way traffic which is the government and the people. Government should do the right things for the state and creating job opportunities.
Student Wing Leader, Samuel Momodu Conteh, said in his statement that students are faced with challenges in the country. The universities have not made any improvement thus students’ divide has created space. The NUSS which serves as the body for universities has not been helping and thus has been serving as a dead entity. Students pay exorbitant fees with no facilities. The government grant in aid is being given on nepotic basis – only the richer students get it.
Rachael, who serves as the national vice president said that it’s about time Sierra Leoneans take what belongs to them. There are lots of challenges student’s face to travel to their different learning institutions.
The President of Patriotic Sierra Leoneans, Mohamed Kamarainba, said that as a patriotic citizen, I have set aside plans to boost the education sector in the economy. Fourah Bay College serves as the oldest university in the country and it is so pathetic to see students fighting for transportation to and from the college. With this in mind, we have the intention to buy a bus for them. Patriotism is a national encounter.
