Sierra Leone Commended on Guinea Crisis
The International Contact Group (ICG) on Guinea over the weekend ended a meeting at the African Union Commission Headquarters in Addis Ababa, a Press Release sent to the Sierra Leone Embassy states.
According to the release from the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) General Secretariat in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the meeting reviewed the latest political and security developments in Guinea and received a detailed briefing on the situation especially the Ouagadougou Declaration and on the progress in the mediation.
The meeting, the release adds, adopted a communiqué in which participants expressed satisfaction on the unfolding positive evolution in Guinea despite the fragility of the situation and requested all partners to provide the country with the necessary assistance in order to speedily restore constitutional order in Guinea.
The release further states that the meeting acknowledged the positive contribution of neighbouring countries, Sierra Leone and Liberia to the stability of their Mano River Union neighbour.
It could be recalled that Sierra Leone’s President, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma on Sunday, 8th November, 2009 joined OIC Member- States in Istanbul, Turkey where he was attending the 25th Session of the Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC) of the OIC and the Guinean crisis was also on the agenda.

I do not understand this and as far as I am concerned, as soon as Dadis declared himself President, a full fledged delegation led by His Excellency the President rushed to Guinea to congratulate him
