Agricultre minister visits farm sites in Bo
The Minister of Agriculture Forestry and Food Security, Dr. Sam Sesay (in photo) has made an on-the-spot visit to various units including the piggery, corn farm and other agricultural divisions in the city of Bo.
Addressing extension and field workers at the various sites, the minister spoke on the value of piggery and corn farming especially in income generation and provision of food for sustainable livelihood.
He encouraged farmers to take up the venture of cultivating piggery and corn farming as one big way forward to food security.
The minister commended the new District Agricultural Officer, Edmond Saidu and his team mates for their commitment in pushing the President’s drive towards achieving food for all.
The minister and entourage later visited a farm site at Reservation ABC owned by a farmer, Brima Tarawalie where the visitors witnessed the packing of milled rice in collaboration with the West African Rice Company for onward sale to the public.
