Nicol-Wilson bridges drivers split
A celebrated legal luminary of the popular Malaika Chambers has succeeded in bridging the aging stalemate that has plagued the Sierra Leone Motor Drivers Union through the judgment of the High Court of the land.
Managing Partner, Melron C. Nicol-Wilson in his representation as counsel for the plaintiffs in the matter before the Hon. Mrs. Justice A. Showers, caused the honorable court to adjudicate several orders that must be followed by the 1st and 2nd defendants in a bid to ensure and maintain sanity in the Union.
The High Court of Hon. Justice Showers therefore ordered that the several appointed Regional Committee Executives of the Motor Drivers and General Transport Workers Union be reinstated. Also, that the Freetown Central Lorry Park, Lumley Sand Tipper Unit, Shell New Road, Waterloo Branch and other Operational Units in the Western region be placed under the direct supervision of the Western Regional Chairman. And lastly, that the Sheriff of the Superior Court of Judicature and any other law enforcement officers, to provide support in the enforcement of the Court’s Orders principally concerned with the restoration of the above mentioned appointed Regional Committee Executives of the Motor Drivers Union.
The matter has therefore reached a logical conclusion by the handing down of the judgment in favor of the plaintiff.
