Need to Upgrade Blama Clinic in Sierra Leone
The Member of Parliament for Constituency 17 in Kenema District, Honorable Habib Munda, has called on government and other concerned agencies to assist in upgrading the Blama Health Centre to the status of a mini hospital where minor surgical operations can be done to save the cost, labor, and lives involved in referring all surgical cases to the Kenema Government Hospital
Making the call during an exclusive interview with this reporter, the MP noted that the Blama Health Centre is servicing several chiefdoms and that almost on a daily basis, blaring ambulance vehicles speed through Blama transporting emergency cases to Kenema, lamenting that several patients die on the way. He described the situation as unfortunate and called for government’s prompt intervention to save his people from unnecessary deaths.
Honorable Munda stressed that Blama is overdue to have had a hospital considering the large size and ever growing population of the town which is now hosting thousands of Sierra Leoneans.
