College Graduation Postponed
The 2010-2012 graduation ceremony for students of the College of Travel and Tourism Studies (CTTS) for both the Freetown and Lungi campuses has been postponed from 26th January to Sunday 24th February 2013 at the British Council Auditorium in Freetown.
The postponement of the ceremony was as a result of a plea by the grand aunts to the college authority for a change of date so that they would get prepared for such a remarkable event.
According to the Principal of the College, the postponement of the event was on humanitarian grounds considering the challenges faced by students. Mr. Amadu Sheriff noted that the postponement would lead to an increase in the number of those that will graduate this year as the venue is being changed to accommodate more people who want to witness the ceremony.
Amadu Sheriff informed this medium that the graduation ceremony will include students in their Lungi campus, noting that the actual number of those to graduate is not known exactly as students show up for the forthcoming graduation on a daily basis. He re-assured that the forthcoming graduation ceremony will be one of the best, considering the befitting preparation CTTS is putting in place as it is going to bid farewell to its products as usual.
He revealed that admission into the 2012-2013 academic year is still in progress, noting that effective teachings are on-going as the college encourages past students of the institution with certificates and Diplomas to grab the opportunity to up-grade their careers through various higher courses for which the college has taken extra miles to ensure that learners easily comprehend their courses.
Mr. Sheriff underscored that with their National Technical Vocational and other Academic Awards (NCTVA) accreditation, the college has courses such as Higher National Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management (HND), HND in Air Travel and Management, HND in Business Administration and Management, Certificate and Diploma in Travel and Hospitality, Certificate and Diploma in Air Travel Management, National and International Certificate and Diploma in Logistics and Transport Management.
