PLDC to Complete Projects
The Port Loko District Council Chief Administrator, Alfred Nabieu Samura, has revealed to that council would soon complete all ongoing development projects as well as commence new ones.
He stated that the timely release of funds to councils by government, especially during the recent elections, is responsible for the delay to complete some of the projects like the mini-stadium, the Maternal Child Heath Center and roads within the Port Loko Township.
According to Alfred Nabieu Samura, some of the roads have been tarred while others have been primed with the water works at Lunsar completed but disclosed that the one in the Port Loko township needs about 96 pipes to be completed.
He also revealed plans by council to employ 34 personnel for both the Lunsar and Port Loko water works and stated that council has budgeted an estimated Le 25 million to purchase fuel for the operations of the water supply project.
Cataloguing the new projects to be soon undertaken by council, he named rehabilitation of the Port Loko District Education Office, water wells in the outskirts of the township and revealed that council has procured enough chlorine and alum to be distributed to councilors and health workers to disinfect water wells.
