Le10 Million bail for petty trader
Daniel Sesay, a petty trader, who resides at Mount Aureole in the Freetown Judicial District of the Western Area, made his first appearance on Wednesday November 14, in court before Magistrate Komba Kamanda with count charges of wounding with intent, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, contrary to Section 18 of the Offences against Persons Act 1861.
The accused person pleaded not guilty in all count charges levied against him and was granted bail in the sum of Le10 million, plus one surety approved by Deputy Master and Registrar of the Magistrate’s Court.
According to the particulars of offence, the accused person on Wednesday 31st October, 2012 allegedly confronted one Abass Kamara, the complainant, and allegedly wounded him with intent resulting to grievous bodily harm.
Magistrate Komba Kamanda admonished the accused person to stop putting his nose into others’ personal issues as the law will frown at a repeat of such from him for the second time.
Responding to the subjection, the accused person thanked the magistrate for granting him bail as he is now using such an opportunity to vote for the incumbent president, Dr. Ernest Koroma. He said should he lose the opportunity to exercise his democratic franchise he would have been unhappy.. He assured the magistrate that he will be a good citizen.
