The assurance was given to the president at the Kenema town field where supporters of the APC had assembled after a successful rally across the streets of Kenema to listen to the address from Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma dubbed “World Best” by the youths of Sierra Leone.

President Koroma while addressing the people of Kenema thanked them for the opportunity accorded him to serve the country for the last five years and went through all the various developmental projects that have been undertaken in Kenema under his government and promised to do more during his second term in office.

President Koroma then presented himself, his running mate, parliamentary and council candidates to the people of Kenema and asked that they all be voted for on November 17th so that the development in Kenema can be smooth and fast with an APC President, an APC dominated parliament and an APC local government.

The APC rally in Kenema has been given thumbs up by many political observers and independent journalists, referring to it as a success. One local radio journalist said that “No political party has drawn this much crowd here since the elections process started.  If all these are transformed into votes, the President will surely win on the first ballot.”

This assurance was given to the president by Tarawallie at the presidential lodge in Kenema shortly after the rally, when the president requested the same of him and his campaign team in the two regions. “The strategies are already in place to make that happen.” Tarawallie said confidently, surrounded by members of his team.

Meanwhile, the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) were scheduled to rally in the second city of Bo today, but the rally did not go as planned. Sources close to the SLPP said that their leaders have been facing difficulties to mobilize their supporters since the APC rally a week ago, which painted the whole Bo city red. “We do not have the resources and support base to pull a crowd like that in Bo so we called off the rally, she concluded.

But others have also said that they called off the rally to avoid embarrassment of not been able to match the APC crowd in their so called stronghold.
