President Koroma’s visit paints Kenema red
As the politic of Sierra Leone is now becoming much more interesting as all signs are pointing to a November crushing defeat for the opposition sierra Leone people’s party (SLPP), which has already lost via defection of some of its major stake holders to the ruling All People’s congress (APC), the ruling All People’s Congress (APC) has on Wednesday 31st October 2012 launched its first campaign in the city of Kenema which drew more than 8,000 people planting the Kenema city with red at all corners, and it was a shock to the supporters of the opposition Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP).
In his welcome statement the minister of state east William Juana Smith said there is no more stronghold for the SLPP and that come November 17 president Koroma will go back to state house adding that the APC is a peaceful party and will always remain to be peaceful noting that the people of Kenema have really shown their love for the APC by coming out in their numbers for the campaign.
The minister of Internal Affairs, Hon. Musa Tarawallie aka Super, said that people of Kenema and Bo have joined hands together in sending a great message to the leader flag bearer and president of the Republic of Sierra Leone Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma by coming out in their numbers from their various constituencies in the Kenema District, welcoming the president and leader and his entourage to the Kenema city adding the turnout was as result of what president Koroma has done for the people of Kenema and Bo, noting that the turnout will be turn into a work force by voting in president Ernest Bai Koroma as the president of the republic of Sierra Leone for the second time so that he will continue the good work he has started.
Hon. Musa Tarawallie reiterated that all what the APC party is doing is within the law and president Koroma was legally elected in 2007 and will be legally elected again to office come November 17. He admonished the people that if president Koroma should come back to state house with run off then the people need to put in more effort.
In his key note address the President of the republic of Sierra Leone Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma said the people of Kenema have really shown the love they have for the APC and that they have shown that they want to vote in president Koroma, adding that when Maada Bio visited Kenema the SLPP were saying that he is a tormentor, but he has now turned to be mentholator.
He stressed that the people of Kenema district are going to vote not only for him, but for the All People Congress Party with no run off and not based on a prima donna sentiments, but because of he has delivered well to the people of Sierra Leone, over the Agenda for change which the Open Government Initiative has already rated him and his government to the people of Sierra Leone and the international committee with a report card as class A student.
President Koroma further stated that, if the people of Kenema vote him and his member of parliament, mayor/chairman, and councilors as a ruling government the second term of office, he will transform the Kenema that has been known as a city without a good medical facility, improved standards of infrastructure, and a university, To a city with all the above mentioned facilities.
