He noted that the police has the responsibility to protect life and property of its citizens and to ensure a peaceful environment for all. The AIG East called on all politicians and political parties to continue to sensitize their members on how to demonstrate a sense for peaceful campaigning during this period and commended his team of personnel at the Ross Road Police Station whom he described as officers of trust.
The Head of Anti Robbery, Sgt. Conteh (aka Major-CID) confirmed that the police are entrusted with the responsibility to protect life and properties. He went on to explain that they are working inline with the vision and mission of the Sierra Leone Police which is, “ that the SLP shall be a force for good, friendly, firm, fair and trustworthy organization which the people shall have trust in as a force for good.”
Sgt. Conteh ended his contribution by admonishing the general public to co-operate with the police in order to enhance peace and justice in the country especially during the election period.
