Red Human Tsunami Sweeps Freetown
11 October, 2012 – Freetown, the capital of Sierra Leone, has been swept away by an avalanche of red as the ruling All People’s Congress ( APC) outdoored just a fraction of the mammoth crowd that will swamp polling stations on Saturday November 17, 2012 to vote President Ernest Bai Koroma in for a deserved and momentous second term. As euphoria spread through the nation today , the whole of Freetown was turned into a sea of red as President Koroma and his deputy Chief Sam Sumana went out to be nominated as APC Flagbearer and running mate respectively for the 2012 elections.
Dictionary is yet to coin the adjectives that would colorfully describe the volume of the massive crowd, the fervent intensity and delirium of the throng of people and the political momentum established by the APC as a whole nation turned out not only to march for President Koroma on his nomination day but to demonstrate once again that they appreciate what the President has done for Sierra Leone in five years of celebrated, fruitful and progressive governance.
We bring you some of the photos that have emerged thus far from our men in the city Ahmed Kabba, Unisa Mansaray and State House’s Jarrah Kawusu-Konte.
