World Rabies Day to be celebrated ion Tonkilili District
Magburaka, September 28 (SLENA): Tonkolili District has been chosen as the venue for this year’s World Rabies Day celebration.
This was disclosed to SLENA by a lecturer at the Njala University College, University of Njala, Donald Sheku. Speaking to this medium in Magburaka recently, Mr. Sheku said rabies can kill a patient if the patient is not immediately treated, adding that rabies affects dogs, sheep, etc and can be fatal if the affected animal, dogs in particular, bite humans.
He therefore encouraged people to be careful and ensure that their dogs are free from rabies. He said this year’s celebration will be held in Mile 91 in the Tonkolili district.
