Father kills son in accident

Monday September 17^th saw the fatal death of Mohamed Conteh of No. 86 Back Street, Kissy, in a gruesome road accident that occurred with the deceased father’s van. Mohammed Conteh was a SS2 student of the Hamid Muslim Secondary School and was 20 years old before his death.

Mohamed Conteh who helps his father each day to make ends meet by selling pure cold water after school coincidentally meet his father’s van in a break down at Kissy Dockyard, Freetown. According to the father Issa Conteh and owner of vehicle with registration number AED 821, he said they were about to go to the Fishing Company at Dockyard when his vehicle’s brake went down. He went on to explain that he told his son and the van’s conductor to help him by pushing the van.

The father said he forgot that his son was in front of the van and accidentally hit him on the head which resulted to his death on the spot. According to the Ross Road Police Division DPC 8542 Musa, on a visit to the scene of the accident the driver and father Issa Conteh lamented that he experienced a failure in the brakes which caused the accident and the medical reports showed that the son Mohamed Conteh sustained a broken skull.
