Parliament hands over Le 50m cheque to family of late deputy speaker
Freetown, August 24 (SLENA): The majority leader in parliament, Hon. SBB Dumbuya has handed over a cheque for fifty million leones (Le50 m) on behalf of the speaker and the leadership of parliament to the family of the late deputy speaker of parliament, Hon Victor Chukuma Johnson (in photo) who passed away last month in Makeni while attending the funeral of the mother of President Ernest Bai Koroma.
While handing over the cheque which ceremony took place in the conference room of parliament building, Hon. Dumbuya said the deceased was a man of every one and encouraged the family to accept the fate that had befallen them as God alone giveth and taketh at will.
While receiving the cheque, a family member, Mrs. Johnson thanked parliament for the gesture and expressed her appreciation to all those who diverse ways consoled them during their moment of grief.
