Mahmoud FC (in photo) are the champions of the 2012 Airtel Rising Stars (ARS) girls’ tournament and have qualified to represent Sierra Leone at the Airtel Pan African competition in Nairobi this month.

The western Area champions will officially be declared the winners on Sunday, the day the ARS national finals in Makeni ends.

They emerged the winners after victories over Bo’s Southern Queens and Rising Queens of Makeni and two other teams Bintumani Queens of Kabala and Kenema’s Jam Jam FC were disqualified for using ineligible players.

The two teams will face each other in the last match of the tournament in what promises to be a cracking and entertaining encounter.

After playing three games each, the two teams will go into Sunday’s match with seven points each but EMF are on top on goal difference.

EMF only need to get a draw to be crowned the new 2012 ARS male champions whilst Kallon FC on the other hand need to win.

Who so ever emerge as the winner will also represent Airtel Sierra Leone at the Airtel Pan African tournament in Nairobi.

The decisive encounter was set up after EMF thrashed Saint Louis Rangers 4-1 on Saturday and Kallon FC played to a goalless draw with Makeni’s Santos Maria who also have seven points but have played all their matches.

Mohamed Akar scored twice for EMF to increase his tally to four goals making him the leading goal scorer so far. Patrick Massaquoi and Alie Bangura were the other goal scorers.
