New Commander Joint Forces Outlines Plans
The newly appointed Commander Joint Forces (CJF) Brig. Gen. John Milton, held a two day command group conference on Thursday and Friday 2-3rd August, 2012 at the Mayaung Officers’ Mess, Wilberforce. Brig. Gen. John Milton indicated that he would do everything within his power to lift the name of the RSLAF to a higher height, adding that he would not go lightly with soldiers who are not ready to work.
He intimated that standards have fallen in the RSLAF and he is determined to raise the standards in the army.
Milton called on other commanders to be vigilant and to treat their subordinates with respect and to also provide for their subordinates.
Soldiers were called upon to be vigilant whenever they are manning security posts and to search all vehicles, irrespective of status
He assured that the Nov 17th 2012 Presidential and Parliamentary elections will be held peacefully and harmodalities will be put in place.

Mr. Milton, that is exactly what we want to see in our country, professionalism. We want to see a free and fair elections. Do not allow youths in open vans going up and down on election day. If you don’t belong to any polling station, you should not be there. If you vote, go back home. You have no business standing around.During last byelections, people were loading youths in trucks and taking them to areas where they have never being. These so called politicians are putting these youths at risk. That must be discouraged.
