Police Boss Mediates Land Tussle
Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Freetown east, stationed at Ross Road Police Division, AIG Mustapha Kamara has mediated a land tussle at the Moyiba community, in the mountain outskirts of Freetown over a week ago.
There was a row between community members at Mambaridge and Sheik Alimamy Turay who built a school at a land offered him upon an understanding that the school was a community school.
The community members said Sheik Alimamy Turay later operated the Imam Sadiq School as a private school which led their members to revoke their deed of offer by asking the Sheik not to proceed with further development on the remaining two town lot.
The Local Unit Commander James P. Conteh said he foresees a social conflict rising between the community members and the Muslim Jamaat led by Sheik Alimamy Turay. He further cautioned the two factions to stay afar from chaos as the country is known to be very supreme over it religious tolerance virtuous.
A committee of eleven men was then formed including a police officer to mediate between the two factions.
