Hon Frances Rogers of PMDC promotes development in Bo
Freetown, June 3 (SLENA): Member of Parliament for Constituency 70, Bo District, Hon. Frances Rogers has embarked on development activities in her constituency, more particularly devoted to the youth and the less privileged.
Speaking to SLENA reporter, Mrs. Rogers said as a member of parliament representing that part of the country she has erected ten court barrays in major towns that constitute her constituency and that she has financed the construction of three classroom block primary school in the constituency.
The parliamentarian further disclosed that in order to support the Traditional Birth Attendants (TBA), she has constructed ten traditional ‘clinics’ to help reduce child mortality in the district and also promote the free health care initiative.
On religious tolerance, Hon. Rogers said she has assisted in roofing five mosques which were in a bad state and three churches in her constituency.
She also spoke of efforts to capacitate the youth by providing working tools to five villages and also ten scholarships to orphans to further their education. As part of her development package, Mrs. Rogers added that Kortugboma section of Bo has benefitted from one boiling machine for the maintenance of the water well in that community.
Dilating on some of the challenges facing her in the development of her constituency, the honourable noted that the city council in Bo does not seem to work in partnership with the MPs and urged council to see MPs as partners in development.
