Bombay Gets Police Post
The Chief Superintendent of police in charge of the Eastern Police Division, Oval Glove Tarawally, explained the police have opened a police post at Bombay a little distance from the eastern police headquarters to our reporter as they want to cut down the menace of petty theft in the city.
He said petty crimes are soaring in the east part of the city and that the only way by which the police can be able to nip in the bud the menace is to establish police presence in the different localities in that part of the city.
CSP Tarawally said countless numbers of complaints have reached his desk on how petty thieves have always snatched people’s hand sets, personal effects and goods from the stock stall around the Bombay vicinity.
The LUC said the community people were happy to have a police post established at Mammy Yoko Street also in east of the capital Freetown. He said members of the Civil Safety Volunteers have always reported through their chair, Alpha that they normally attempt to arrest and bring criminals to the police but each time they did they would face stiff resistance from members of the community.
