Melanie Adesuwa Eke emerges as 2012 AWAG International Cycle I Winner
Beverly Hills – Melanie Adesuwa Eke (in photo) is the 2012 African Women Are Gorgeous International Cycle I winner. The Nigerian-American Los Angeles native seized the top spot yesterday, with over two-thousand worldwide votes. Eke will receive a spread in AWAG International Magazine, be honored at the 2013 AWAG Winner Circle Awards Soiree and receive a luxurious medley of prizes furnished in part by Sprinkles Gourmet Cupcakes, Villa Blanca, Beverly Hills and Burke Williams Spa.
“I am much honored not only to be the winner of this competition, but the first winner, because it is the beginning of a very powerful and meaningful movement for African women worldwide!” Eke said.
Eke holds a Bachelors degree in Radio, Television and Film and has acquired invaluable practical experience working with renowned organizations such as Sony Pictures Television, ABC 7, Warner Music Group and Sequoia Productions. Eke is now poised to make her mark in the entertainment industry as a Television Host and Editor of her very own lifestyle and entertainment website, slated to be launched this July.
Eke’s ascent to the top was incessantly challenged by the AWAG Cycle I runner-up Olubunmi Adeleke. The tenacious Wife, Mother of two, and Secondary School Math and Science teacher received an impressive 1,795 worldwide votes. “This was a great experience, stressful because I am a competitor but great all the same I love this site” Adeleke said.
