Leone Stars set to face Iraq in Turkey
The Sierra Leone National team, Leone Stars will on Tuesday May 22 engage their Iraq opponents at the Olympic Stadium, Istanbul, Turkey.
The team arrived in Istanbul on Sunday night with 19 home based players who were joined by attacking Cyprus based attacking midfielder, Issa Zuma Kamara as they held their first training session on Monday at the stadium venue.
Also Finland based striker, Obi Metzger Jr and Azerbaijan midfielder, Ibrahim Obreh Kargbo joined the squad later on Monday.
Addressing the boys, Swedish Coach Lars Olof Mattsson who is also with the team together with his assistant, Jens Andersson advised the home-base players that the two friendly matches are great opportunity for them to prove their chances.
He said: “Already we have invited 16 players for the three matches in June but there are chances for you to prove yourself and be part of the team.”
